Grand opening of the new academy for the entire railway industry – PMC Rail International Academy

With national and international industry professionals, representatives of local and federal politics and numerous partner companies, the new training center of PMC Rail International Academy was officially inaugurated on May 21st, 2019 with a great opening event.

State-of-the-art simulation technology, spacious and light-flooded rooms and a motivated team of employees. An optimal combination, which visibly appealed to the guests of the official opening of the new academy of PMC Rail. Particular attention was paid to the newest cooperation with BOSCH Rexroth, which leads to synergies on both sides. The lavishly stocked hydraulic training stands by BOSCH Rexroth now enable even more in-depth training at the highest level. Numerous compliments to the architecture of the new training building, which was realized by the renowned architects of BSP Architekten, were crowned by Uwe Richrath, Mayor of Leverkusen, who described the training center as "a real eye-catcher".

The new academy offers seven seminar rooms on three floors, which are variable in size, as well as a spacious event room for up to 120 people, which can also be rented for third-party use. In addition, the new training center offers numerous simulation and teaching facilities, as well as a broad library with all the books of the specialist book publisher PMC Media House GmbH and a comprehensive collection of international industry magazines. One of the many reasons for relocating the main office to Werkstaettenstrasse in Leverkusen-Opladen was the development of new capacity. The new training center offers enough space for additional machine simulators. In addition to the two simulators based on Plasser & Theurer machines, an additional tamping simulator based on a MATISA machine will be installed, as well as a driving simulator for certified train driver training.

With the shortage of skilled workers in the industry as the main topic at the opening ceremony, keynote speeches by various industry experts and a podium discussion called for young people to be trained and introduced to this attractive industry. In the medium term, more than 1000 national and international seminar participants in the field of railway infrastructure will be individually trained and educated in the new academy each year. Together with the right partners and a motivated team of employees, the vision has become a reality. PMC Rail International Academy will continue to work on developing the industry as a whole.
