PMC Rail – Ground-Breaking Ceremony for the Academy in the Railway Industry

The ground-breaking ceremony of PMC Rail International Academy took place in the Werkstaettenstrasse on the grounds of the former railway repair center “Neue Bahnstadt Opladen” in the city of Leverkusen this February and is to open in late 2018.

Education: Main Focus on Railway Infrastructure
The three-story building equipped with a lobby made of glass, seminar and training rooms, a cafeteria and administration offices will be opened in late 2018. The academy will offer training courses for the operation and maintenance of railway infrastructure on the former ground of a railway repair center. The focus will be on machine technique, track geometry and functional training courses. 

1000 Participants per Year  
The academy expects to welcome 1000 participants every year. They will be trained in courses that will have a duration up to six weeks – bright prospects for the hotel industry and the gastronomy industry in Leverkusen Opladen. Mr. Uwe Richrath, the major of Leverkusen, the Managing Director of the “Neue Bahnstadt Opladen” Mrs. Vera Rottes, as well as the PMC Managing Directors Mr. Antonio Intini and Mr. Detlev Suchanek attended the ground-breaking ceremony this February. Mr. Uwe Richrath said about the Academy: "PMC Rail focusses on the need for education and further training in the international railway industry and plans for the future. The location benefits a lot from the academy that will be located exactly on this historical ground.” The publishing house PMC Media House that is spezialized on specialist books in the field, provides the needed specialist literature. Both companies, PMC Rail and PMC Media will Transfer to Opladen: "What area would be more adequate for a future-oriented academy for the railway System than the area of the former repair centre and track construction site of the Deutsche Bahn - an area with a railway-past and railway-future.", Antonio Intini adds.
